The Emporium

Our Emporium at The Knot is a treasure-trove of pre-loved items including ladies’, men’s and children’s clothing, shoes and accessories, books, toys, household goods, jewellery and bric a brac.

There are many fabulous bargains and the stock changes frequently. We are grateful to everyone who donates their items to us.

Drop in to find everything from pocket money toys, jigsaws and games to delicate china, crystal glasses and homeware. There are lots of designer labels and quality pre-loved clothes and shoes; your next Whipman ballgown or designer handbag could be waiting for you. Shopping in the Emporium is always a fun experience as you never know what you might find!

In addition, you can shop in the knowledge that you are helping to reduce the amount of waste which goes to landfill, whilst raising valuable funds which The Knot can plough back into the community.

What items are accepted for sale in the Emporium?

We welcome donations of good quality clothing and accessories, household goods (no electricals please), small toys and books (no CDs or DVDs).

What happens to donations which cannot be sold?

We work with a wide network of local charities as well as with Nathan’s Wastesavers to ensure that we send as little as possible to landfill. We pride ourselves on our sustainability credentials.

Our network of partners includes Tweed Togs, the Bethany Trust, Peebles Auction House, Chest, Heart and Stroke (Biggar), Steffy’s Boutique, Peebles and Sustainable West Linton and we are always on the lookout for new ways to make the most of donations.

Community Links and Events

We hold a variety of events throughout the year including regular Jumble Sales, an annual Fashion Show and Coffee Mornings. We often have a stall at the West Linton Monthly Market and other special events include the Whipman Week Market and the West Linton Christmas Lights Switch On. We are always on the look out for new ways to support the community and connect with local groups, businesses and organisations in the Whipman area. To contact us for more information on what we could offer your group or organisation, email us. For more details of upcoming events, check out our monthly Blog which will be online when the website is completed. Meanwhile we have our social media pages (see links on the home page).
