Getting Involved

There are many ways of getting involved with The Knot:

In whatever way you choose to become involved with The Knot you can be assured that you are helping to give back to the Community.

Shop at The Knot

Pop into the Shop and bag a bargain from our selection of high quality pre-loved goods in The Emporium, knowing that 100% of the purchase price is profit that we can plough back into the Community and maintaining Sheila Cottage.

Visit the Gallery to browse our wide collection of work by local makers and artists, treat yourself or pick up a gift. The Knot receives 20% of the price you pay.

Donating your pre-loved items to The Knot is a fantastic way to support the Community as all the profits from The Emporium generate funds to share with local groups, organisations and good causes.

Volunteer

Have you a few hours to spare? Why not become a Knot Volunteer and work a shift or two in the Shop?

Each shift is a two hour slot and we always have at least two Volunteers on duty. Tasks include sorting donations, tidying up stock and selling items. As a new Volunteer you will be given full training and be supported by one of our seasoned veterans to learn the ropes.

You will join a friendly group of people, many of whom have forged new friendships through their association with The Knot.

You will be updated regularly on our plans for The Knot and where we are helping in the Community. We have Volunteer events where you can catch up with people you have worked a shift with over a cup of coffee and we welcome and value your experience to help improve our service.

Our wide range of activities in the Community would not be possible without our Volunteers. Apart from working in the Shop there are opportunities to become involved in other events such as modelling or catering at our popular Fashion Show, running our stall at the West Linton Market, assisting at our regular Jumble Sales or our ‘Why Knot Drop In?’ coffee mornings.

We are also always looking for new members of our Managing Committee which is made up of some of our Volunteers. The Committee meets each month.

Whatever your skills, experiences or interests, there is a role for you at The Knot.
